Golfing for a Cause: Supporting the Fight Against Blood Cancer

Every year we come together for a day of golf, laughter, and friendship at the Thunderdome Invitational. While the outing is a fun tradition, it also carries a deeper purpose: supporting the fight against blood cancer.

Our mission is personal. We golf to honor Darlene Niemi, grandmother of Kyle Fedyna, who started the Thunderdome Invitational. Darlene, unfortunately lost her battle to cancer this year, but she fought courageously, and her strength was inspring. We want this outing to turn into a day on the course into something more meaningful; we proudly partnered with the Blood Cancer United to help raise funds that provide critical resources for patients like Darlene.

This mission is incredibly important to us because there is still not enough awareness around blood cancers and the challenges patients and families face. The funds raised help support life-saving research, provide free information and support services, and advocate for better, more affordable care for patients.

How You Can Help

If you’re able, we kindly ask you to consider donating to our team page. No amount is too small—every dollar makes a difference and helps bring hope to patients and their families.

You can also support the cause by joining us for Light The Night, an inspiring community walk that brings people together to celebrate survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and support those currently fighting blood cancer. Hundreds gather in downtown Detroit, carrying illuminated lanterns that symbolize hope and remembrance.

At Light The Night, companies, community partners, friends, families, and sponsors unite to shine a light in the darkness of cancer. The funds raised through this event help drive research, improve treatments, and provide essential support services for patients and families around the world.
